U okviru programa NEWFELPRO dr. sc. Mirko Sardelić provodio je 16-mjesečni projekt pod nazivom “The role of emotions in contacts between Eurasian cultures. Representation of the Oriental Other in Medieval and Early modern Central Europe (Emotions Otherness)”. Istraživanja za prvu fazu projekta, dr. sc. Sardelić je proveo na University of Western Australia, a drugu fazu u svojoj matičnoj ustanovi – Zavodu za povijesne i društvene znanosti HAZU u Zagrebu.
