Zvonko Kusić, F.C.A. was appointed head of the Department of Immunology and Genetics of Tumors in the new term of office of 4 years starting from September 30, 2020.

The Department of Immunology and Tumor Genetics of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts (formerly the Department / Cabinet for Research and Standardization of Immune Substances) was established in 1983 and operates within the Department of Medical Sciences.

Its research focuses on immunologically active substances in viral precancerous, cancerous, and other diseases. In order to carry out laboratory and clinical field research, the cabinet cooperates with other scientific institutions at home and abroad. An important part of the cabinet’s program is the application of various interferons in head and neck tumors and melanoma, as well as in precancerous and cancerous cervix uteri diseases.
