Curriculum Vitae

Radoslav Tomić, art historian, was born in Split on Marach 1, 1957. Graduated in art history and comparative literature from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zagreb in 1982. He received his doctoral degree in 1994 with a thesis Barokno kiparstvo u mramoru na području Dalmacije. He trained in Italy, Germany and Austria.

From 1986 to 1997 he worked as a conservator in Split and since then at the Institute of Art History in Zagreb as a scientific advisor in permanent employment. From 1997 to 2104 he taught Umjetnost baroka at the Department of Art History of the University of Zadar, where he was elected to the title of full professor in permanent employment. He teached at the University of Zagreb and Split.
Author of numerous books, scientific and professional papers published at home and abroad. He participated in symposiums and congresses and as a lecturer at universities in Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Italy.

He was a full member of Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts since 2010 in the Department of Fine Arts.

He was engaged in painting and sculpture in Dalmatia, especially Baroque (Barokni oltari i skulpture u Dalmaciji, 1995; Trogirska slikarska baština, 1997; Splitska slikarska baština, 2002).
