Branko Kincl, Croatian architect and urban planner was born on April 3, 1938 in Zagreb. He graduated in 1964 from the Faculty of Architecture, University of Zagreb in the class of V. Turina; From 1966 to 1968 he was an associate of the Master Workshop of Drago Galić. He worked in the Urban Institute of the City of Zagreb (1965–1974), the Urban Institute of Croatia (1974–1977), then at the Faculty of Architecture in Zagreb, where he was a professor until retirement. Since 2012 he has been professor emeritus of the University of Zagreb.
He was the head of the urban plan of the center of Zagreb (1971–1973). As an urban planner, he was particularly concerned with the design of the city of Zagreb, the protection of monumental heritage and traffic planning, and the methodology and organization of the work of the Urban Institute of the City of Zagreb.
Branko Kincl is the author of several interpolations in Zagreb and Croatia, as well as the reconstruction of the Maksimir football stadium in Zagreb, The new passenger terminal of Zagreb Airport.
He has been a full member of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts since 2006. He received the 2016 Vladimir Nazor Lifetime Achievement Award.
