Curriculum Vitae

Mario Suško, a Croatian poet, essayist, and translator, was born on December 17, 1941, in Sarajevo. He graduated from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Sarajevo, received his master’s degree in Zagreb and received his Doctorate in New York. He worked as a professor in the Department of Anglistics at the University of Sarajevo, and since 1993 he is professor at Nassau Com. College in upstate New York.

He published 82 books, 30 of them books of poetry and several books of translations from The English language. His poetry has been printed in anthologies and magazines in Croatia, the USA, the UK, Sweden, the Netherlands, India, Ireland, Hungary, Austria and Italy, among others.

He has won numerous awards, including Goran’s Wreath in 2015.

In 2012 was elected as a corresponding member of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts.
