Martina Basarac Serti\u0107<\/strong>\u00a0was born in 1985 in Karlovac. Basarac Serti\u0107 is a senior research associate at the Department of Economic Research of the Department of Social Sciences of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts in Zagreb.<\/p>\n She graduated in 2007, and in 2009 she completed a specialist postgraduate study Statistical Methods for Economic Analysis and Forecasting. She received her PhD in 2012 from the Faculty of Economics, University of Zagreb. She has published about sixty scientific and professional papers, two of which are the author\u2019s books. Her main research interests are related to the fields of macroeconomics, sectoral competitiveness, economic modelling and sustainable development. As an external associate, she participated in teaching courses in Croatian Economics, Economic Policy and Economics of Education at the Department of Macroeconomics and Economic Development and Statistics at the Department of Statistics, Faculty of Economics, University of Zagreb.<\/p>\n Since September 2023, she has been independently teaching the Sustainable Development and Natural Resources course at the Faculty of Economics in Zagreb as an associate professor and mentoring numerous graduate and seminar theses. Since 2020, she has been Secretary (until July 2022) and member of the Scientific Council of the Institute for Eurasian Research at the Faculty of Economics, University of Zagreb. Since 2021, she has been the program director of the CRO \u2013 CHI Think Tank Executive Board of the Department of Eurasian Research, Faculty of Economics, University of Zagreb. She is a member of the Institute for Energy and Environmental Economics (INEEO) and the Croatian Statistical Society. She is a member of numerous organizational, program and editorial boards of national and international scientific conferences and conferences. Since May 2021, she has been a member of the research project entitled \u201cAnalysis of structural factors of convergence of the Republic of Croatia during the transition process\u201d (project manager: Josip Tica, PhD, project code: IP-2019-04-4500). Since June 2022, she is a member of the research and teaching project of the Faculty of Law, University of Zagreb, entitled “Institutional support for foreign entrepreneurs and digital nomads in Croatia: socio-economic and legal aspects” (research leader: Associate Professor Ru\u017eica \u0160imi\u0107 Banovi\u0107). Since June 2023 she is a member of the action COST (European Cooperation in Science and Technology) “Implementation of Circular Economy in the Built Environment \u2013 Circular B (leader: Prof Luis Bragan\u00e7a). She is a member of two working groups (WG1: Circularity strategies and best practices; WG4: Dissemination and results communication).<\/p>\n In 2023 Martina Basarac Serti\u0107, PhD was elected as the representative of associate members in the Department of Social Sciences and participates in the work of the CASA Assembly without the right to vote.<\/p>\n
