Tomislav Galovi\u0107 was born in 1979 in Nova Gradi\u0161ka. He completed elementary school in Bogovi\u0107i on the island of Krk and later attended the Pazin College \u2013 Classical Gymnasium in Pazin. At the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb, he earned degrees in History, Archival Science, Latin Language, and Roman Literature. At the same University, he obtained his Ph.D. with a dissertation titled \u201cLibellus Policorion \u2013 The Rogovo Cartulary (A Diplomatic-Historical Analysis).\u201d He is currently a Full Professor and Head of the Department of Auxiliary Sciences and Methodology of History at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb. He also served as Acting Vice Dean for Organization and Development of the same Faculty. Dr. Galovi\u0107 is an external collaborator of the Catholic Faculty of Theology and the Faculty of Croatian Studies, both at the University of Zagreb, and a member of the Scientific Centre of Excellence for Croatian Glagolitism at the Old Church Slavonic Institute in Zagreb. He is also a contributor to the Miroslav Krle\u017ea Institute of Lexicography in Zagreb.<\/p>\n
Dr. Galovi\u0107 is the current President of the Croatian National Committee of Historical\u00a0Sciences (a member of the Comit\u00e9 International des Sciences Historiques \u2013 CISH \/ International Committee of Historical Sciences \u2013 ICHS), the umbrella professional organization of Croatian historians. He is a member of the Governing Council of the Croatian State Archives in Zagreb, a member of the Main Committee of Matica hrvatska (Matrix Croatica<\/em>), and Head of its Department of History. His research focuses on Croatian medieval and early modern history (political, ecclesiastical, and cultural) and the auxiliary sciences of history (palaeography, diplomatics, chronology, ecdotics\/textual criticism, and heraldry), and in particular, the Croatian Glagolitism and history of the island of Krk. He is the author or co-author of about ten books and around two hundred scholarly and professional papers, as well as editor of several proceedings and organizer of academic conferences. Since 2017, he has been a member of the Editorial Board of the journal Hrvatska revija<\/em>. He serves as Editor-in-Chief of the scholarly journal Kr\u010dki zbornik<\/em> (published by the Krk Historical Society) and is also a member of the editorial board of Fontes. He is the history section editor on the Publishing Council of FF-press, the publishing division of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb (since 2018). He is a member of the Association for Croatian Studies \u2013 ACS (Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA) and Association for Slavic, East European, & Eurasian Studies \u2013 ASEEES (University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA).
