Graduated in 1976 and received his Doctorate in 1987 from the Faculty of Science in Zagreb. He worked at the\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2 SCXW22690394 BCX0\">Ru\u0111er<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW22690394 BCX0\">\u00a0Bo\u0161kovi\u0107 Institute&#8217;s Centre for Marine Research in Zagreb (1976\u201390). Since 1990 he has been working at the Geological Department of the Zagreb Faculty of Science; since 1999 as a full professor. He served as head of the Geological and Paleontological Institute (1997\u221299; 2010\u221215), head of the Geological Department (2003\u221205), Vice-Dean (2000\u221201) and Dean (2008\u221210) of the\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW22690394 BCX0\">Faculty<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW22690394 BCX0\">.\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW22690394 BCX0\">His field of\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW22690394 BCX0\">interest is<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW22690394 BCX0\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW22690394 BCX0\">the geology of the sea, especially river<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW22690394 BCX0\">\u00a0estuaries,<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW22690394 BCX0\"> and environmental protection. He investigates the issue of sedimentation in river estua<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW22690394 BCX0\">ries<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW22690394 BCX0\">\u00a0and in the Adriatic, as well as the role of suspended material and sediments in the circulation of pollutants in nature. He compared and explained sedimentation processes in non-Karst and karst\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW22690394 BCX0\">estuaries and<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW22690394 BCX0\">\u00a0proposed the karst mouth of the\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2 SCXW22690394 BCX0\">Ra\u0161a<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW22690394 BCX0\">\u00a0River as a model type of imbalanced estuary. He is a promoter of science in public. He was president of the Croatian Natural History Society (2008\u201313) and editor-in-chief of the journal Geologia\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW22690394 BCX0\">Croatica<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW22690394 BCX0\"> (2008\u201315).
