He graduated from the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Zagreb in 1968 where he also obtained his PhD in 1983. He became a full professor at the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Zagreb (1993). He was dean of the School of Dental Medicine (1995-1999) and vice-chancellor of the University of Zagreb (2002-2006). He retired in 2010. Co-author and editor of several books and over 310 scientific and technical works, of which around 60 CC \/ SCI values. He was a Visiting Professor at the Dental School, University of Wales, Cardiff, UK (1990-1994) and at the University of Bristol, (1991), and a Visiting Lecturer, School of Dentistry, The Oregon Health Sciences University, Portland, Oregon, USA (1995). He visited another 30 universities on five continents. Co-founder (1993) and editor of the Croatian Dental Journal and an editorial board member of some international journals. He organized the international DentEd visitation and evaluation of Dental Medicine (Zagreb, 2002). He was an organizer of more than 30 domestic and international meetings, including the Annual Meeting of the European Regional Organization of the World Dental Federation (Dubrovnik, 2001) and 34th Congress of the European Association for Dental Education (Zagreb, 2008). Co-founder of the Croatian Chamber of Dental Medicine and a member of several professional and scientific societies. He has been a<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW20582001 BCX0\">ssociate member<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW20582001 BCX0\">\u00a0of the Croatian Academy of Medical Sciences since 1994 and a member of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts since 2006.
