Suzana Coha (Zagreb, 1978) graduated in Croatian language and literature and comparative literature at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zagreb, where she has been employed since 2002 at the Chair of Modern Croatian Literature, the Department of Croatian Language and Literature (first as an assistant; from 2013 as an assistant professor; from 2019 as an associated professor). She received her PhD in 2009 at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zagreb, and was awarded research scholarships in Ljubljana (2004) and Graz (2006).<\/p>\n
She is the author of two books (Poetics and politics of Gaj\u2019s <\/em>Danica, 2015; The<\/em> great Croatian<\/em> Ljudevit Gaj. The charismatic and controversial leader of the Croatian National Revival<\/em>, 2022). She collaborated on five bibliographies of Croatian literary periodicals (ed. by V. Bre\u0161i\u0107) and on one exhibition catalogue (ed. by A. Dodigovi\u0107 and S. Martinovi\u0107), and co-edited two anthologies of scientific papers and two thematic magazines. She published over fifty scientific and over thirty professional papers in Croatian and foreign publications, and wrote sixty entries for five Croatian and three foreign encyclopaedias and lexicons.<\/p>\n She participated in one scientific project at the national level, two institutional scientific projects at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zagreb and one institutional scientific project at the Institute for Croatian Language and Linguistics. She was the principal investigator of three institutional scientific projects at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zagreb. She was a member of the preparatory or organizing committees of several scientific conferences, and has been a member of the organizing and program committee of the scientific conference \u201cMarija Juri\u0107 Zagorka – life, work, legacy\u201d since 2021.<\/p>\n She has presented papers at numerous domestic and foreign scientific conferences and gave invited lectures at the scientific conference \u201cJan Pawe\u0142 II and the idea of \u200b\u200bs\u0142owia\u0144sko\u015bci\u201d (Warsaw, 2015) and at the \u201cXVI International Croatian Scientific Conference of the Regional Centers of the Scientific Institute of Croats in Hungary\u201d (Pe\u010duh, 2022, with C. Pavlovi\u0107). She also gave invited lectures at the Institute of Slavic Studies of the University in Graz (2006) and at the Department of Languages \u200b\u200band Civilizations of Central and Eastern Europe at the Faculty of Foreign Languages \u200b\u200bof the University of Udine (2018).<\/p>\n She has been one of the editors for the Croatian Radio programme \u201cKozmopolis – literature in context\u201d since 2016, a reviewer and member of the editorial board of the project \u201cZapre\u0161i\u0107 authors online\u201d (by the Ante Kova\u010di\u0107 Library, Zapre\u0161i\u0107) since 2017, and a member of the editorial board of the edition \u201cCenturies of Croatian literature\u201d by the Matrix Croatica since 2021. In 2022, she was appointed the head of the literary studies section of the Zagreb Slavic School.<\/p>\n Areas of her scientific interest include Croatian 19th<\/sup>– and 20th<\/sup>-century literature, contemporary Croatian literature, comparative literature and media culture.<\/p>\n She was elected an associate member of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts on May 16, 2024.<\/p>\n Suzana Coha – personal website<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n
