Danijel Belu\u0161i\u0107<\/strong> was born in 1978 in Zagreb. He completed his BSc, MSc and PhD studies at the Department of Geophysics, Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb, where he worked as an assistant, senior assistant and assistant professor from 2001 to 2011. He attended several advanced training seminars and courses and spent eleven years in international research institutions in the USA, Australia, Great Britain and Sweden.Since 2021, he has been working at the Department of Geophysics, Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb, as a professor of atmospheric science.<\/p>\n His research focuses on atmospheric dynamics and climate change, with an emphasis on extreme events (e.g. the development of convective systems and the occurrence of downslope windstorm gusts). As a participant and leader, he has been involved in numerous research projects funded by national and international science foundations. He has taught fifteen courses at the University of Zagreb and Monash University.<\/p>\n He is a regular reviewer for more than twenty international journals and has reviewed project proposals for several national and international foundations.<\/p>\n He has received several national and international awards (e.g. from the World Meteorological Organisation and the European Meteorological Society).<\/p>\n
