After graduating from the Faculty of Law in Zagreb, he specialized in the social psychology of industry and industrial relations in the United States, and received his PhD in Ljubljana in 1965. From 1951 to 1955 he was editor-in-chief of the publishing company Kultura (later Naprijed). After that, he worked at the Institute for Social Management (1956 -1962) and at the Institute of Economics in Zagreb (1962 &#8211; 1966).
