Curriculum Vitae
Julijana Matanović was born on April 6, 1959, in Gradačac (Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina). Since May 1962 he has lived in Croatia. She completed elementary school in Đurđenovac, gymnasium in Našice, and studied Yugoslav languages and literature at the Faculty of Pedagogy in Osijek. She completed her postgraduate studies at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zagreb, where in June 1989, with the expert guidance of professor Zoran Kravar, she received a master’s degree on “Primarna i sekundarna generička obilježja u Đurđevićevim „Uzdasima Mandalijene pokornice“. She received her Doctorate in 1998 with the theme Hrvatski povijesni roman XX. stoljeća. Since September 1993 she has been an employee of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb, in 1993 she was elected as an assistant at the Department of Recent Croatian Literature. She was promoted to the title of assistant professor in 1999 and to the scientific title of associate professor in 2007. In May 2013 she was re-elected to the same vocation. She began publishing professional and scientific papers in 1982. She is the author of a dozen prose and scientific books. Her prose was translated into Slovenian, German, Hungarian, Slovak, Czech, Ukrainian, Dutch, Macedonian and Bulgarian.
